Classic Carbon/Hinoki Wonder Blade! Joola Rossi Emotion Blade by: Richard McAfee, Joola Sponsored Coach and USATT Hall of Fame Inductee The Rossi Emotion Blade offers the popular combination of high quality Carbon layers with Hinoki outer layers. This has been one of the most popular blade constructions for the last 20 years and this construction results in a blade with high speed, excellent control, and a soft feel. The blade I tested was light for a Carbon Blade at 85 grams and very well balance. The Carbon layers are arranged next to the core layer so that there are two wood layers on top of the Carbon with a high quality Hinoki wood layer as the outer play. The blade plays with little vibration and has a very soft “feel” and excellent control in the “short game” and when blocking. However, as soon as direct contact is made and the Carbon layers are activated this blade produces very high speed with pinpoint control. This blade’s mix of speed with control will suit a wide range of styles of play including: all-round attacker, power-looper, and mid-distance aggressive looper. I love this feel and control of the Rossi Emotion Blade and also the effortless mid-distance counter-looping abilities. My test blade had Rhyzm on the forehand and Express on the backhand. Both rubbers played great of this blade. The Rossi Emotion is an excellent bargain as the racket is the equal of many blades on the market that sell for twice as much. This is one of Joola’s most popular blades and is now my own teaching racket. I love this blade! |
